Description
MUTE MUTATE MUTILATE MUTINYBruce Witsiepe, Circle X
MUTE MUTATE MUTILATE MUTINY is the result of an enthusiastic collaboration between Harrison and Eric Angenot, between a typographer and sculptor. The produced shapes derive from a dialogue with multiple connections. The exhibition is the crystallization of this exchange process.
A white burr occupies the exhibition space of Speedy Wash. Eric Angenot's sculpture, a modular assembly of lacquered elements, combines the minimal aesthetics of furniture kits with an inextricable and distressing network.
On the facade, Harrison has made a typographical installation using the leftovers of Eric Angenot's sculpture. Transformed into signs in relief, they play with the notions of language and character design. Their expressivity refers to the power of form over meaning.
A publication will be freely distributed at Wiels and various shops of St. Denis documenting the artistsÂ’ collaboration.
