Description
Genius Loci is a public space installation created by Anna Rispoli with
the help of locals living between the Midi Station and Wiels.
The latter were invited to donate an unused lamp. Hanging from arches on Avenue Fonsny, the collected chandeliers transfigure an anonymous passageway. The installation presents a bit of each resident's history, moving it out of the domestic
sphere to illuminate the public space. Through her artistic and participatory projects, Anna Rispoli encourages a poetic reinvestment of the public space, while
questionning its potential for inventiveness.
